Thoughts on Psychosis and the Conservative Mind
Also, i wrote this a few years ago and i still feel it is valid.
Thoughts on Psychosis:
Introduction:
So, i was thinking about the nature of the mind and what makes someone a liberal and someone a conservative. One of the things that i usually think about when it comes to this subject is that liberals are known for humanitarian efforts and conservatives for their militaristic endeavors. This led me down the road of thinking about other violent people, which led me to psychopaths. Psychopaths act out with anti-social behaviors and as i see it behaviors that would reduce the viability of continuing and enhancing the human race would be deemed as anti-social. I can't think of anything that seems more like reducing the viability of the human race from continuing than trying to go to war against other humans, or placing economic systems over other humans that reduces some humans to slaves, either wage or traditionally. These are the two main proponents of conservative politicians, that and religion, which is used in most of the world as an exclusionary device to designate some groups "better" than others, or to identify "god's chosen people", and/or country. These are all manifestations of anti-social behavior. In trying to learn more about psychopaths i looked up the signs and symptoms of psychosis. And now more than ever i see that i was right to think that the conservative mind is at least subject to mild psychosis at best and many conservatives have a much higher degree of psychosis than most would think. Four of the over-arching symptoms of psychosis are hallucinations, delusions, thought disorder, and lack of insight.
Hallucinations: A hallucination is sensory perception when there is a lack of external stimulation. Hallucinations can occur in any of the five senses; they can be auditory, visual, tactile, olfactory, or gustatory.
Auditory:
Many conservatives believe that they talk to and hear the voice of god. Whether or not this should be listed under auditory hallucinations, delusions, or thought disorder i do not know. Conservatives have an amazing ability to hear something and then bend it into something that was never said at all. I do not know if this is an auditory hallucination or just a case of “hearing what you want to hear” even though the words they hear were never even said.
Visual:
In addition to belief of being godspoken many conservatives have visions or prophecies that they believe are given to them by god.
Delusions: For a thought to be considered delusional there are three main criteria it must follow. First there must be a certainty by the person with the belief, the belief is held with absolute conviction. Secondly, the belief is incorrigible, meaning that it can not be changed by compelling argument or proof of the opposing idea. Thirdly, there is a falsity of the content, meaning that the belief is completely untrue or there is no way it could be possible.
There are far too many delusions to even cite here but one of the most prevalent beliefs of conservatives is that there is a liberal conspiracy in the media. No matter how much evidence to the contrary of this opinion is discovered conservatives continue to believe it. It does not matter that there is actual proof of conservative influence on the media, i.e. Fox News, and the fact that talk radio has always leaned more conservative than liberal. As well as there being a conservative group that posts the day’s talking points for all conservative to spout each day, so when you turn on the news you can hear them all saying the same thing with the same words. In addition to this belief conservatives have problems accepting scientific conclusions even when those conclusions have a scientific consensus in the appropriate fields and is documented in the appropriate peer-reviewed journals. This tendency to reject science has been in the minds of conservatives for centuries if not millennia. The most well-known historical case would probably be that of Galileo’s house arrest and banning of discussing and writing about a heliocentric model of the solar system. It took hundreds of years of scientific measurement and proof to change the stance of the catholic church and to this day the current pope still thinks what the church did to Galileo was just and right. Today’s conservative science rejections are the fact that humans are influencing global climate change and the 149 year old debate on whether evolution is fact or not, of which the catholic church is ahead of the curve this time and accepts evolution and human induced global climate change.
Formal Thought Disorder: Thought disorder is described as a pattern of disorder used in language which reflects disordered thinking, primarily shown in speech or writings. Some symptoms include: pressure of speech (speaking hurriedly and continually, more spontaneous speech than normal), distractible speech (subject changes mid-sentence in response to external stimuli), derailment or flight of ideas (switching topics inappropriately or in mid-sentence), thought blocking (regular interruptions in the train of thought), intrusive thinking (inappropriate aggressive, sexual, or religious thoughts), tangentiality (replies to questions in a tangential or unrelated way), loss of goal (person can not follow a train of thought to a natural conclusion), illogicality (faulty conclusion are reached using faulty logic), circumstantiality (answers to questions or statements include information that has nothing to do with the topic being discussed, excessive long windedness).
The thought disorders that i have listed above are only those that i have noticed in my interactions with conservatives. Often i will be around conservatives and most of the above listed symptoms will be exhibited multiple times per day.
Pressure of Speech:
Often i will be in the presence of conservatives and they will just start telling me their opinions without any prompting from me to do so. Frequently, i will be the only other person around and i will be reading a book or doing work and be listening to music with headphones on. Despite the fact that i am obviously busy, a conservative will require that i take off my headphones and stop working or reading so that they may say something to me or ask me a question that i have nothing to do with, do not know the answer, or actually care to hear. Incidents such as this happen multiple times per day every day that i spend around conservatives.
Distractible Speech:
This conservative trait is irritating but at the same time useful. It is frustrating when you are trying to have a conversation with someone about how to complete a task or about a job that needs to be done, and the person is constantly being distracted by the slightest background stimulation. This is especially bothersome when in an environment such as a construction site of where much of my work is done. While one is trying to get work done this trait is quite inconvenient, it can also be used for your benefit. A great time this trait can help you out is when a conservative has come up to you and started talking to you about something that you don’t want to hear about, such as how liberals hate America or whatever their daily talking point is, you can usually easily distract them by pointing at some object or happening going on in the distance and make some comment about it. If that doesn’t work just ask them a question about a completely different subject usually this distracts them enough to lose their train of thought and then they forget what they were talking about, unless they haven’t already gotten themselves incredibly angry over it.
Derailment or Flight of Ideas:
The act of switching topics mid-sentence or interjecting some unrelated topic into sentences is another bothersome trait of many conservatives. Many times i’ll be discussing something work-related and then something will trigger in their minds and then we’ll be on some topic that has nothing to do with work. One of the most extreme examples of this was one time when i was driving with a conservative and we were discussing a dilapidated building that we saw on the side of the road something triggered him to start talking about how in the 1970’s there was a black Marxist woman who went to Zimbabwe to help throw out or kill all the white people that owned property there. Then he talked about how that was terrible and about how all those “niggers” were stupid to throw out the people who knew how to grow the food and now they are starving because of it. What this has to do with dilapidated buildings I don’t think I will ever know.
Thought Blocking:
A few of the conservatives I’ve been around will start sentences and then trail off into murmuring or just plain stop talking halfway through a sentence. Oh how i only wish that all of their speech was interrupted by thought blocks. It would save me many countless hours of frustration and i’d probably get a lot more work done in spite of it.
Intrusive Thinking:
Most of the inappropriate aggressive and sexual thoughts I’ve recognized in conservative is due to them acting on their thoughts or verbalizing them because they suffer from pressure of speech. The acting on inappropriate aggressive thoughts is exhibited in the constant yelling at other people, verbal abuse, and verbal threats of physical harm to others. The inappropriate sexual thoughts are also verbalized due to the curse of pressure of speech. Conservatives that I’ve had the misfortune of being around usually feel the need to make constant crass sexual remarks about women, which isn’t in itself exhibited exclusively in conservatives. But there is also the inappropriate sexual remarks about girls who are obviously underage, as well as remarks in the presence of co-workers, out in public places, and over communication radios. Another display of inappropriate aggressive and sexual thoughts are those directed to homosexual individuals. I’ve not met one conservative yet who doesn’t have anything negative to say about homosexuals. Much of the time the talk about homosexuals and other people with gender identity issues is violent, saying things such as they are wrong, should be beaten, should be jailed or even killed. I myself have not noted any blasphemous religious speech but that I think would be rare in conservatives as most of their identity revolves around their “faith” in god. Although, I would not rule them out as I know how tremendously hypocritical most conservatives are.
Logicality:
Conservatives are known for following their “gut” and not reacting well to scientific thought or logic. Many times have I witnessed conservatives hearing an argument for or against something in which logically you can see that the answer is the opposite of what they believe but they still can not come to the same conclusion as the logic would lead one to accept as true or false. Whether this is due to the fact that they just can’t follow logic, or they are delusional, or they just are to stubborn to concede to others when they are wrong, I do not know.
Tangentiality, Circumstaintiality, and Loss of Goal:
When i am at work and trying to get something done this can really be an inconvenient trait. Sometimes i’ll ask why we don’t carry out a particular task in this way which seems easier and more efficient. Lots of the time i’ll get the answer of because then we would get too much work done. But many times i’ll get told a really long story about the history of some aspect of work that doesn’t have anything to do with the question i asked in the first place. Frequently the story will switch completely off of work topics into a personal story or into another political rant of some kind due to the conservatives flight of ideas. I don’t even know how many times I’ve asked a question and been told a long winding story that didn’t even answer my question in the beginning. What’s even funnier is sometimes, rarely, but sometimes the conservative has recognized that they lost sight of what they were trying to tell me and ask me to state my question over again.
Lack of Insight: People who do not understand the reasoning or logic behind why others choose to act, think, or behave a certain way are said to suffer from a lack of insight. Lack of insight is also exhibited when people don’t recognize that their hallucinations, delusions, or thought impairments are unrealistic or illogical.
I don’t even know how many times i’ve had to explain the reasoning behind why some decisions are made to conservatives. They just don’t seem to understand logic or reason very well. One of the most difficult to deal with things that i won’t even try to explain to one of the conservatives i work with is that his wife is depressed. He doesn’t believe in depression and just complains about her all the time but if he actually listened to her problems he could come to understand her and then his marriage wouldn’t be falling apart. If i as someone who has never even met his wife can tell by the way he describes her action can tell she is depressed how can he not accept it when he has to deal with it the majority of his life? It’s completely beyond me. I don’t think that it’s just a lack of insight that conservatives suffer from, but also a lack of empathy. Spending your life always worrying about the self instead of others will probably do that to you. As for beliefs that are unrealistic a major belief of conservatives is that prayers to god can heal them. What’s humorous to me about this is that there was a scientific study about prayer and healing. The study showed that prayer did not help the sick get better but in fact the people who were prayed for were worse than those not prayed for, with a slight statistical significance. Among other delusions that are unrealistic and illogical are the conservative beliefs that: liberals and homosexuals are out to destroy America and marriage, communists want to enslave everyone, scientists are trying to destroy god, trickle-down economics works, corporeal punishment deters crime, and many other things that are ridiculous sounding and that logical scientific studies have shown to be false.
Conclusion:
The majority of conservatives exhibit many traits of psychosis and will these traits are not solely limited to those that would profess to be or be labeled as conservatives they seem to be more endemic to the conservative mind. Many scientific studies have shown that liberals and conservatives think, behave, and emote differently. I expect this to continue to be shown in future studies. I wonder whether there have been studies on people diagnosed with psychosis showing if they are conservative or liberal. What is even more of interest to me is a study of which group, liberal or conservative, diagnosed psychopaths would self-identify as or be scientifically labeled.

Citizen Involvement in Science Policy? No Thanks!!!
http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/intersection/2010/04/29/a-little-respect-involving-citizens-in-technology-assessment/comment-page-1/#comment-58325
Having lay-citizens involved in discussions pertaining to science policy and recommendation at a national level is a very, very bad idea. The normal citizen of the US knows next to nothing about even basic science. To give these people any sort of a say into the the science policy of the country is only going to hasten the downfall of the US's scientific leadership. The reason the OTA worked so well is because it was experts working together to solve problems and guide things without a typically American political bent. If you involve regular citizens there is no possible way to keep the politics out of it, even if you show the lay-people multiple viewpoints they are going to pick the one that mostly resembles their religious or political viewpoints every single time. The people in this country don't even know what a scientific theory is, how can you expect them to make wise non-partisan decision. I do think it would be wise to include scientists from academia and research institutions around the country but please for the love of science keep lay-people out of science policy. Science policy isn't about making a particular group happy it's about making the scientifically advisable choices that will make this country a better place for everyone.

As I Often Do
Hope is a weapon but it can dull just as a sword, or decay just as a bomb. As a wise man once said "But when the end comes, those who march on will be the ones who used hope as a weapon. So we embrace fear, march on to victory, get up when we fall, march on to victory and when our feet bleed, then we will crawl." Lines like this give me hope for the future, they make my will grow stronger and they increase my strength. We will change this world and we will make this a better place for everyone, I Promise.

Write Your Congressperson If You Want To Keep Your Organic Local Farms
I am writing you to urge you to not sponsor H.R. 875 and to ask you to convince Oregon Congressman Peter Defazio to drop his co-sponsorship of this bill. This bill known as the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009 is just another attempt by large agribusiness to shut down non-Genetically Modified farming and put organic and family farms out of business. This bill was basically written by Monsanto, Cargill, Tysons, ADM and the other large agricultural-industrial corporations. The bills sponsor Rosa Delauro (D-CT) is married to Stanley Greenberg does corporate polling and research for Monsanto. Oregon is leading the cause of organic farming and farmer's markets, if this bill passes it is going to place severe restrictions small local farms and farmer's markets by instituting Federal fees, registrations, and all but requires farmers to use pesticides, herbicides, and genetically modified seeds. If Oregon wants to continue to lead the way on sustainability we need our politicians to fight against the power of large agribusiness and stop the wolf in sheep's clothing that is the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009.
Thank you for your time.

Legalizing marijuana answer to government’s $ problems?
http://caffertyfile.blogs.cnn.com/2009/05/07/is-legalizing-marijuana-the-answer-to-the-governments-money-problems/#comment-975956
From a straight-edge kid, YES!! Absolutely, YES!!! Drug legalization is a way to solve financial difficulties, a very good way. The European nations that have legalized or severely decriminalized marijuana have increased state revenues, had better luck at getting people into drug rehab that actually works, and they have not had the moral failings that American conservatives often eschew when talk about legalization comes up. If we legalized marijuana that would free many thousands of people from American prisons, primarily blacks and latinos, who's only crime was having some marijuana on them when they got pulled over and weren't rich or white enough to get a good lawyer or fair treatment. The cost of prisons would go down and there would be more money for education and health care, things that actually matter.
I don't have time to write as much as I'd like to on this subject at this time, but this is a lost cause. America will legalize marijuana it's just a matter of now, or when Gen Y finally takes the political reins away from the baby-boomers and yuppies from Gen X.

Reponse to Republican Commentary on CNN.com
Quote Mr. Rollins:
"We are a party that needs ideas, new leaders and an inroad into young people and their thinking. That doesn't mean we have to abandon our old ideas or quit fighting the president's policies when we don't believe in them."
Response:
If you want an inroad to young people you are going to need to abandon your old ideas and quit fighting the president's policies. Young people overwhelmingly vote progressively, and voted for President Obama. Young people these days have grown up in an increasingly diverse country, going to public schools where they learn from students with other cultural backgrounds. This leaves them with an affinity with those who are from a dissimilar background and provides them with the ability to accept others who are different than them. The Republican party has long been opposed to diversity issues and still uses the tactics of race-baiting and blaming minorities for this countries problems. When Republicans can bring something new to the table and give up their old ways of discrimination then maybe just maybe they may be able to split off a little of the youth vote from the Democrats.
In addition to the discrimination method that the Republican party likes to run with, there is the current ploy to call all of the plans the democrats have socialism. That worked in the 50's and 60's when people in this country were afraid of Communist Russia but in this day in age with the strongest communist dictatorship being North Korea and the only other one being Cuba this tactic isn't going to scare anyone. Also the fact that most of the things that Republicans are calling socialism, like national health care, social security, and welfare are already instituted and much more heavily funded in almost all other industrialized nations. What Republicans term socialism the youth of today see as equality and fairness, you know those things that you try to instill in your children when they are young so they don't grow up isolated, alone, and bitter. I think that Republicans have forgotten that. So when you outgrow your old and tired rants on "socialism", what we today call equity, fairness, and human rights, you may be able to get a few more youth votes. Until then good luck with trying to win future elections without becoming more moderate.

Darwin Day
It disgusts me to see how you try to balance the argument on evolution. The same thing is happening with evolution that happened with global climate change. 99.9999% of scientists, you know the people who do the actual science, say that evolution happens and that it isn't just a theory like something you came up with on your drive to work. Science and scientists made a decision on evolution years and years ago and they said it happens. Yet the media continues to make it appear that scientists are in disagreement, much like they did with global warming. The appalling thing is that evolution has been the foundation for the biological sciences and modern medicine for much longer than global warming has been around but it is treated more disgracefully in the media than climate change, which hasn't had a scientific consensus for nearly as long. I would like for CNN to stop trying to give equal share to both sides of the evolution debate. The scientists have spoken, give them their due.

The Stimulus Bill (write your senators)
Here is what i wrote to my senators:
I want to urge you to not allow the Senate Republicans to cut the spending budgets for the Sciences and "Green" technologies out of the stimulus bill. Science and new sustainable technologies are what drive this economy, there is nothing besides education that can compare to the ratio of dollars in and dollars out that you can get by investing in science and technology. Call for a vote on the stimulus bill as soon as possible. If republicans aren't willing to vote to save this country from economic collapse let them vote no against the stimulus bill and we'll see if they get re-elected next time around. Thank you.

Prop. 8 Hate
I think the saddest part of this is that there is already a ban on gay marriage in 42 states with 30 of those having state constitutional amendments banning it. But the fact that something like this has passed in California which is supposedly a "liberal stronghold" shows how entrenched bigotry is in the people of this country. That's why I want anyone who reads this to go to as many Prop. 8 protests as you can, there will be at least one in every state. Go here to find out where your local protest is going to be, tell as many people as you can about it, and take as many friends as you can.

Republican Projectionism
The McCain campaigns newest attack is that Obama is a Socialist because he wants to "spread the wealth around". First off this country has always spread the wealth around, not only has this country done it but every country ever you can't have a functioning society without spreading out the wealth. Roads and infrastructure, police and military, all of these are provided by taxation, which spreads the wealth around. There are no countries in the world that do not do this. As for Obama spreading the wealth even further just take a look at the tax brackets from the beginning of the century through WWII, when the top tax bracket was between 67% and 79%, while today the top bracket is 33% and Barack wants to only raise it to 39% and only for the top 5% of the population. anyway that's beyond my point. My point is that republicans are huge projectionists. Republicans were behind the $840 billion bailout. John McCain as close as 2005 on Meet the Press explained why people who make more should pay more in taxes. And probably the worst case of projectionism is Sarah Palin who just weeks before she was nominated as VP gave this remark to a journalist Philip Gourevitch of The New Yorker, "we're set up, unlike other states in the union, where it's collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs." She stated that about her states Socialist policy of writing each citizen a check for living in the state, paid for by the oil corporations leasing of oil fields in Alaska. She used to brag about the fact that she raised the amount of wealth spreading in Alaska by $1200 a year, now Barack Obama is the "Redistributionist in Chief"? Shame on you McCain and Palin.
As for Obama supporting domestic terrorism, where to start on the Republican nominees supporting it. Ok, John McCain is friends with Gordon Liddy, who was behind the Watergate burglaries and was sentenced to jail for 20 years for conspiracy, burglary, and illegal wiretapping (although the latter appears to be perfect ok these days). Liddy has also incited violence towards federal officials on many occasions often telling listeners of his radio show that if the ATF comes to your house to disarm you you should shoot them in the head, i'll give you a direct quote because it's more insane that way. Liddy has stated, "Now if the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms comes to disarm you and they are bearing arms, resist them with arms. Go for a head shot; they're going to be wearing bulletproof vests." ... "They've got a big target on there, ATF. Don't shoot at that, because they've got a vest on underneath that. Head shots, head shots.... Kill the sons of bitches." August 26, 1994. And Obama is the one who is friends with domestic terrorists?!?!
A new claim of Palin's is that Obama is friends with another radical professor who is a terrorist. This new "terrorist pal" of Obama is Rashid Khalidi and he is claimed by Palin to be a former spokesperson for the Palestinian Liberation Organization, however Khalidi and the PLO both claim he was not a spokesperson for the PLO. Obama is "pals" with Khalidi because he taught at the same school as Obama and held a couple fundraisers for him. This automatically makes them friends of course, just as sure as John McCain and Sarah Palin having members of the KKK donate to their campaign mean that they are friends with racists and a domestic terrorist organization responsible for countless deaths of Americans. Right? On top of this, John McCain gave Khalidi's Center for Palestine Research and Studies grants worth over $500,000 during the 1990's when he was chairman of the International Republican Institute. So again, maybe they Republicans should check into who they are going to use in their smear campaigns before they start them. By this logic, I would think that McCain is giving money to "terrorists" while Obama
is only taking money from them.
Now let's talk about Sarah Palin and her ties to domestic terrorists. First of her husband was a member of the Alaskan Independence Party (AIP), a secessionist group. I can not think of anything more damaging to this country than trying to rip one of the stars of the flag. She gave a keynote speech at the AIPs convention earlier this year, and telling them to "Keep up the good work"!!! Seriously, "keep up the good work"?!?!? And again Obama is the one "pallin'" domestic terrorists. She should have referred to it as Palin' around cause she is the one who's doing it. At least William Ayers has done something with his life, like be named Citizen of the Year by the City of Chicago in 1997 for all his charitable work. What has the AIP ever done? Oh just try to seceed from the US. Oh and if that isn't enough this is how their founder, Joe Vogler, views America "the fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred of the US government. And I won't be buried under their damn flag....when Alaska is an independent nation they can bring my bones home." And Obama is the one who is friends with domestic terrorists?!?! Wow. Just, wow.
Not only does she have ties to domestic terrorists of this country she has ties to domestic terrorists in other countries. I know you've all seen that video of her getting the demons excised form her by that witch hunter priest from Kenya, Thomas Muthee. He got his start in Kenya by coming to a town and claiming that an old lady who lived there was a witch, she was blamed for the illnesses, traffic accidents, and even static on the radio. He convinced the people and police of the town that this old woman was a witch and got an angry mob together to drive her out of town. Targeting people of his own country for no other reason than he believed she was a witch. Wow, that is dumb. Well it doesn't stop there. Muthee after getting rid of Palin's demons then ask god to make sure that she became Governor of Alaska, and Palin actually credits Muthee for helping her win the governorship!!! Insane.
And as for ACORN destroying the fabric of democracy in America, I could go off on that for a long time but I'll just let McCain's words at an SEIU, People for the American Way, UNITE HERE, and ACORN rally speak for him. He said to them that they are "what makes America special". Here is a link to the video.
I don't even know what to say besides, stop saying bad things about other people that you yourself are a prime example of, it blows your case and it's just sad.

Here they go again
In Georgia county elections offices have been sending out letters telling people, "This office has received notification from the state of Georgia indicating that you are not a citizen of the United States and therefore, not eligible to vote." That's ok though because they give people a week to prove that they are citizens by providing a birth certificate, passport, or naturalization papers. But it doesn't really help when they write the letter on Oct. 2nd and send the letter out on Oct. 9th. 50,000 thousand Georgian voters have been flagged because of mismatched personal information and 4,500 have been told they can't vote because they are not citizens, both US born and naturalized citizens. Who is behind this new system that purges citizens from voting rolls, oh that would be Georgian Republican Secretary of State Karen Handel. In addition to just plain kicking citizens off of voting rolls Federal voting laws say that voters can not be purged from the voting rolls within 90 days of an election. So, Mrs. Handel is breaking federal law as well and this case is probably going to be the second case to end up before the Supreme Court concerning voting this season. Georgia is also being questioned about their request for over 2 million social security numbers to verify registered voters, which is more than any other state, even though Georgia is the 9th most populous state.
In Ohio this year, we've already had a voting issue taken before the Supreme Court. In this case the state Republican party sued the Democratic secretary of state in order for her to generate a list similar to that in Georgia. She refused on the basis it would disenfranchise voters hundreds of thousands of voters. The case made it's way up to the Supreme Court where the GOP lost thier case.
In Florida, the Republican secretary of state had the system implemented and for a three-week period in September 75% of the new registered voters were flagged for mismatched personal information due to typographical and administrative errors. Why are these people not fired then?
In Wisconsin, the Republican Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen sued the state election board because they would not implement the new "voter supression system" that republicans had gotten through in Georgia and Florida. The board conducted a test and found that 22% of the voters were flagged including 4 of the 6 members of the state election board.
As you can see Republicans do not want you to vote mainly because if less people vote they tend to win. This is because people from populous counties where many people register have more information to enter and get mixed up. Populated areas tend to vote overwhelmingly for Democrats. There's just something about living next to different people that leads you to thinking everyone is equal I guess, versus living in the boonies and being afraid of anything that is "different".

Joe the dumbass liar (not plumber)
1. Doesn't have a plumbing license or an apprenticeship because he didn't complete the work.
2. Didn't have any actual plans to buy the small business he works for
3. The annual income of the business is only $100,000 a year, actual taxable income even less. Even if the business did make $250,000-$280,000 like "Joe" said, after proper business deductions it would only end up having a taxable income of $150,000-$200,000, which is still under the limit of the top tax rate increase that Obama proposed.
4. Joe the plumber donated $100 to the McCain Campaign before he even went and talked to Obama. Reported on Keith Olberman - MSNBC Oct 21, 2008

Joe the Dumbass Plumber (from a previous date)
If you are reading this, you most likely are into politics and watched the third presidential debate. In this debate McCain was trying to connect to the American public in an extremely pandering way. He kept bringing up Joe the plumber, over and over as if the only issue in
Anyway i hate Joe the plumber. Here's why, Joe the plumber should be Joe the moron, or Joe the entitled douchebag. Here are some quotes from Joe the plumber, "Redistributing the wealth, as far as my hard work, that upsets me," he said. "That's not right. That's not American." And one more than to add on top of that is that Joe the douchebag would be making more than $250,000 a year.
Anyone who makes over $250,000 a year is rich, if you could buy my house with less than a years wage you are rich. Rich people should be paying more in taxes, it's a responsibility of theirs, if they want this country to be a better place and for them to make more money they need to invest in this country not in sending jobs overseas to exploit poor people in poor countries, and destroy their environment and kill their people, just because it's "cheaper". Life isn't cheap and it shouldn't be thought of as commodity.
Oh and Joe the moron, redistribution of wealth is American and always has been. In 1917 the highest tax bracket paid 67% in income tax, by World War Two it was 79%, nowadays those same CEO's pay a piddly 33%. If you make 25 million a year you are taxed at 33%, that leaves you with 16.75 million, who needs that much money? If you were taxed at the rate from 1917 you'd have 8.25 million dollars, and if you were taxed at the rate at the beginning of World War Two you'd still have 5.25 million dollars. I'm sorry if that's not enough money for you, you should be placed in
Here are some quotes for Joe the ignoramus about taxes from our greatest president and one of the Founding Fathers:
"Taxes should be proportioned to what may be annually spared by
the individual." --Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1784.
"Another means of silently lessening the inequality of property is
to exempt all from taxation below a certain point, and to tax the
higher portions of property in geometrical progression as they
rise." --Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1785.
There is your American, someone willing to stand up and do what is right for others and pay their fair share.
Fuck You Joe.
One more reason why conservatives are douchebags and morons, as if there weren’t enough already
"As a freshman Congressman, the likely passage of this measure has taught me a new principle: The force of Congress can be brought to bear and justified to suspend those natural laws which would otherwise control important matters. The well-intentioned desire of Congress to help the poor apparently will not be restrained by the rules and principles of the free market that otherwise do restrain American businesses and workers. Apparently, Congress can change the rules that would otherwise affect the affairs of mankind."
"So, Mr. Speaker, I have asked my staff to draft a measure I call the Obesity Reduction and Health Promotion Act. Since Congress will apparently not be restrained by the laws and principles that naturally exist, I propose that the force of gravity by the force of Congress be reduced by 10 percent. Mr. Speaker, that will result in immediate weight loss for every American. It will immediately help reduce obesity problems in America. Weight loss will also help to promote the overall health of Americans as we have been vigilantly advised by our health care."
"Mr. Speaker, I thank this body for the education I have received from the passage of this bill. Since the basis for the use of Congress's power is the same with both measures, I would also ask that everyone who is supporting the measure before us consider becoming an original cosponsor of the Obesity Reduction and Health Promotion Act, and I have a copy."
"So much for the decorum of Congress."
First off, reducing gravity only reduces weight, it does not reduce obesity, obesity is the measure of fat content in a persons body. If you reduce gravity that makes people lighter and affords them to have less muscle mass and more fat. It makes you less healthy, that's why astronauts have to exercise 3-4 hours a day. If you wanted to make people healthier you could increase gravity a little.
Second, Free Markets are NOT based on Natural Laws. Free markets are a badly constructed human economic policy. Their inventor Adam Smith even claimed that they would eventually fail because you can't expect constant growth forever. A Natural Law is something that occurs naturally in nature and does not change throughout the universe, such as Newton's Three Laws of Motion. Laws of motion are applicable to anywhere in the known universe and even anti-matter is subject to Newton's Laws.
Thirdly, there is no decorum in the house or senate because of people like you, so, so much for decorum indeed douchebag.

United States National Health Insurance Act HR 676
Tell your congresspeople to support HR 676. Below is the short email i sent to my congressman.
I would like to urge you to support Representative John Conyers Jr.'s bill, HR 676, also known as the United States National Health Insurance Act, which advocates for a single-payer health care system to be set up in the United States. Health care is an important issue to all people and should be considered a guaranteed human right. Supporting this bill wouldn't hurt you politically in extremely liberal Portland and is what your constituents want and what we deserve. I for one don't mind paying more in taxes to make this country a better place.
Thank you.
A Real Explanation of the Employee Free Choice Act
So like most of you already thought, those douchebag conservatives are up to something tricky when they claim that democrats are taking away your right to secret ballots. It's not an out and out lie, it's a word twisting, taking things out of context lie. Figures, those jerky assholes.
Colin Powell Endorsement of Barack Obama

Anyone who is a moderate and hasn't made up their mind about who to vote for should see Powell's wonderful argument about why Obama is a better choice for today than John McCain. We need more people like Colin Powell, who use their minds instead of their "guts" to make wise, logical decisions. I think Colin Powell fucked up pretty big when he went to the UN back before the Iraq war to push the whole WMD line. But the guy has said on many occasions he feels bad about what he did, and i sincerely think he is, and i think he was probably lied to and was not told about how the evidence was made up or 20 years out of date. Plus Colin Powell has been doing a lot since he retired from the Bush administration to make up for his mistakes.
